Dietary & allergens

The whole menu is gluten free. Below: what's in each item, and how our kitchen works. Allergies? Tell us when you order, or call 0435 818 561.

Our products can change

We always try to use the same products, but now and then one changes: a manufacturer changes a recipe, or a supplier runs out and we buy another brand. We check every product for gluten, every time. Other allergens, such as soy, egg or milk, can change with a new product. If you have an allergy, ask us which product we're using today before you order.

How our kitchen works

The whole menu is gluten free

Every spud, fry, topping, sauce and side we serve is gluten free and suitable for coeliacs. We only buy gluten-free ingredients, so there is nothing on the truck to cross-contaminate.

One gluten-free fryer, shared with chicken

Our fries, cauliflower bites and other sides are cooked in a dedicated gluten-free fryer. The same fryer cooks our gluten-free chicken nuggets (which contain soy and egg) and our cauliflower bites (which contain lupin), so fried items may carry traces of soy, egg and lupin, and we don't label them as vegan.

About the wheat in our chilli and bolognese

Our chilli and bolognese use a beef booster that is gluten free, endorsed by Coeliac Australia, so they're safe for coeliacs. The booster's soy sauce is made using wheat, which is processed until no gluten can be detected, so wheat still appears on its label. That means these two dishes aren't suitable for anyone with a wheat allergy, and they contain soy. We're switching to a wheat-free stock soon.

Chicken salt contains soy

Chicken salt is tossed through our fries after frying, never in the fryer. It contains soy and isn't vegan. Ask for your fries without it.

Dairy free on request

Most meals can be made dairy free: ask for dairy free when you order. We swap Nuttelex for butter, vegan cheese for cheese and vegan mayo for sour cream (extra charges apply). Dairy-free fries come without cheese sauce or sour cream. Our bacon may contain traces of milk.

Halal

Our truck isn't Halal certified, because we cook pork on board. Our fries, chicken salt, garlic salt, frying oil, parmesan, truffle aioli and vegan mayo are Halal certified. Pulled pork and bacon aren't Halal. Beef mince can be Halal on request for catering: ask when you book.

We can't promise allergen free

Our truck's kitchen is compact and every meal is made in the same small space, so we can't guarantee any meal is completely free of an allergen. Dairy is the hardest to avoid: butter, cheese and sour cream go into most of what we make. We're happy to make changes for an allergy, but doing it safely takes extra time: we clear and clean the bench, change gloves and stop everything else while we make your meal. At very busy times we may not be able to do that, and we'll tell you honestly if so.

Recipes and suppliers can change. If you have an allergy, tell us at the hatch and we'll check the labels with you.
